Behind LAQ Academy is a team of dedicated educators, support, and behavioral staff who are passionate about helping students feel understood, supported, and capable of growth. Each person brings experience, care, and a deep commitment to meeting students where they are, both academically and personally.

Kendall Bernier

DIRECTOR OF SCHOOLS

Kendall Bernier serves as Director of Schools at LAQ Academy, where she is deeply committed to supporting neurodivergent individuals through compassionate, student-centered education. She believes in meeting each learner where they are and helping them grow with confidence, independence, and purpose.

Kendall is a Certified Paraprofessional with experience across both school and clinical settings, including her work at the Bradley Schools. She has also worked as a private CNA, strengthening her ability to provide individualized care and support for individuals of all ages.

Her background as a lead daycare teacher sparked her passion for early childhood development and creating strong, supportive learning environments for young children.

Outside of LAQ Academy, Kendall is an instructor and Assistant Director at D&L Dance Studio, where she shares her love of dance and creative expression. She values the arts as a powerful tool for building confidence, connection, and self-expression.

Kendall brings warmth, experience, and a genuine dedication to helping every student feel seen, supported, and inspired.

LEAD EDUCATOR

Jennifer Brochu

Jennifer Brochu serves as Lead Educator at LAQ Academy, bringing a strong foundation in literacy, special education, and individualized instruction. She is passionate about helping students build confidence in their learning through structured, supportive, and research-based practices.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and a Master’s in Reading Education. She is certified in Elementary Education and Special Education, and is additionally trained in both Wilson Reading and Orton-Gillingham—evidence-based approaches that support students with diverse learning needs, particularly in literacy development.

She brings experience across a range of educational settings, including her work with Mansfield Public Schools as a kindergarten special education teacher and reading specialist. Jennifer has also served as a reading specialist at Beacon Charter School, supporting students in grades 9–12, and worked with middle school students at Beckwith Middle School. Her diverse background allows her to effectively support learners across a wide range of ages and abilities.

In addition to her classroom experience, Jennifer has provided individualized Orton-Gillingham tutoring, working one-on-one with elementary students to strengthen foundational reading skills and foster long-term academic growth.

Jennifer brings a thoughtful, student-centered approach to her work and is dedicated to creating an environment where every learner feels capable, supported, and empowered to succeed.
